All you do is put it on the roof rack of your car, SUV or truck, and adjust the Reel Box Tube and Reel Box to fit your pole. The lockable tube holds fully-rigged fishing rods so you’re ready to jump out and fish wherever you go.

Altair is a single rod carrier for all your fishing needs. With the turn of a screw, it accommodates 90% of all fishing rods, including fly, spey, bait casting and spinning rods. Altair’s incredible versatility is possible because the Reel Box adjusts to accommodate almost any reel on the market, which is just not done today!
Altair accommodates fully-rigged rods up to 12 feet long right out of the box! Most other rod cases max out at holding rods 10 feet long. Altair’s Reel Box Tube adjusts to allow a rod to be 17 inches in length from the front of the reel to the butt of the rod.
Altair doesn’t fit big game conventional anglers’ rods or deep sea bait casters, only regular-sized bait casters.

Each rod carrier comes with a set of mounting brackets that will fit almost all standard roof rack crossbars. Hardware instructions will also be included, making installation a breeze.
Altair is built to last. It’s constructed of strong plastic and aluminum with a durable powder coat finish.
The Reel Box Tube, Middle Tube and End Tube are all constructed of a light-weight, strong aluminum. We chose aluminum because it’s extremely durable, yet lightweight—features you want in a roof-top addition.
The Reel Box itself is made of glass-impregnated nylon for strength, and it effortlessly slides on the aluminum. Even the mounting brackets are fully metal so they won’t break down over time!
