In 1967, my Grandfather left the city and began building his farm in the Swedish countryside. Starting from the ground up, he dedicated all he had to construct his family homestead on a piece of land named ‘Bornas’. Today, his farm is my escape from the city; the first place I go to embrace the wilderness.Handmade with Swedish vegetable tanned leather, this sheath will only get better with time. Becoming richer and developing a rugged patina the more you use it.

Fixed blade knives have long been an outdoorsman or carpenter’s blade of choice, but we’re changing the narrative. We’ve reimagined the traditional tradesman’s knife — creating the perfect knife not only for hunting or hitting the trail — but for craftsmen and artists of every kind.We’re firm believers that every blade needs a sheath — especially fixed blade knives. That’s why every Bornas comes with your choice of sheath included. Our first option is a high quality leather sheath that's been sourced and handcrafted in Sweden.

The Bornas is yet another evolution towards the future of Everyday Carry. Every blade we’ve designed serves a unique purpose. During this specific design process, we set our focus on versatility. The Bornas is capable of conquering not only the untamed wilderness, but any everyday task you may come across in the office or workshop.

Boasting a sleek body and design, the Bornas makes for a compact carry, ideally worn as a belt or neck knife. This minimal build is one The Bornas’s greatest assets — expertly crafted without sacrificing an ounce of quality and durability.Lightweight, durable, and made to fit perfectly in hand — we’ve shedded the bulk and excess that other fixed blades are known for. The Bornas’s wood or G10 handle measures in at just 3.15”.

Combined with a sharp steel blade coming in at 2.6”, the Bornas is the perfect size for a low profile carry in the city, while remaining a force in the outdoors.As with every WESN product to come before it, we treat each component with care and attention in our design process. This fixed blade knife is made of the most durable materials on the market, and will last you a lifetime.

For the avid outdoorsman and those who like it rough, we also have a Kydex sheath available. Kydex is made of a long lasting thermoplastic and has long been a fixed blade knife staple. This sheath will keep your blade safe and looking sleek for years to come.Sweden has long been known for some of the world’s highest production standards. In partnering with local manufacturers and craftsmen that we trust — we’re able to oversee the entire product journey from the start. This allows us to create a knife that is of excellent quality, and that will truly last a lifetime.

The Bornas Kydex Sheath was unlocked as a stretch goal — to get yours, you can select this free upgrade in the backer survey that goes out post-campaign. Inspired by my Swedish family farm of the same name, there was only one place in the world we could make this knife. We’ve extremely proud to bring our manufacturing process back to our Scandinavian roots. The Bornas is our first knife made in Sweden.
