We provide hand-designed signature in Chinese characters We are a designer team that creates design featuring with East Asian cultures. For our very first project on Kickstarter, we decide use one of the most iconic East Asian cultural symbols, the Chinese characters, as the main element of our design.
Chinese characters have been used widely in East Asia for thousands of years and remain as the main written characters of China mainland, Hongkong, Taiwan and Japan nowadays.
As we have decided to use the Chinese characters mainly in this project, the next question will be what we create with Chinese characters. And the first thought came to our mind was signature. Native speakers of Chinese or Japanese usually learn their own signature writing at the initial stage of learning Chinese characters. Not like other words, one’s name is a word that is exclusive to a person. And a well-designed signature can be a reflection of one's personal style and character. Therefore, we decided to provide Chinese signature design service in our first project.
hy do we start this project?, To disseminate the charm of Chinese characters. As a pictograph, Chinese characters are different from most other scripts. Each Chinese character not only indicates the pronunciation but also tells a story within it.
In Chinese characters using countries like China and Japan, instead of being merely a tool for daily communication, Chinese characters are considered a form of art. People practice Chinese characters calligraphy from a young age, and some even make a living from it. We hope that more people from non-Chinese characters using countries will discover the beauty of it.
Helpful with your Chinese writing learning: Learning to write Chinese characters can be a very difficult task. We are aware that native speakers of Chinese or Japanese, which are written in the symbolic language of Chinese characters, usually learn their own signature writing at the initial stage of learning the writing of Chinese characters.
