Cord Mate is a handy (wearable) magnetic tool for holding cords, cables, hoses and anything that can be clipped to a carabiner, to a metal surface.It's main purposes is to keep cables and hoses from being hazardeous when transporting appliances (think of moving a refridgerator).
The gap in the center is used for pinning a cord to a surface with ease, and the loop at the end holds a carabiner which comes in handy for holding larger cables and tools, or as a belt clip (seen below),Cord Mate provides over 15 pounds of strength for clipping or holding cables (up to 12 gauge) and tools to metal surfaces, while still being easy to remove.
We are Matthew Robinson and Glen Harrison, founders of GM Innovations, LLC, and we developed Cord Mate to provide professionals and homeowners with an effective solution for holding and storing cords, cables and tools against any metal surface, keeping it out of their way.
Matthew Robinson, has been in property management since he was 14, and was constantly moving appliances without an effective way to keep the cable off of the ground so they wouldn’t get crushed or tripped over, When he had the idea for a solution to this problem, he brought it to his partner and Co-founder Glen Harrison.
Glen confirmed he had indeed experienced this quite often, having been in the real estate rental industry for 10+ years (lots of moving!) They conducted some market research verifying that many individuals and businesses alike shared the same problem (with large cables and hoses in particular), After confirming that nothing on the market specifically addresses this issue, they collaborated on a few prototypes and… presto! - Cord Mate was born.
There are currently no tools on the market that can successfully accomplish what Cord Mate does. Nothing that addresses the need to fixing cords, hoses and tools to a surface with a sturdy hold and practical design that's also easy to apply and remove.
