If you enjoy a looser look, you can always size up for a roomier feel, We crafted the outer shell with Ventile Cotton: a highly specialized, sustainably grown fabric from the UK trusted for its extreme durability and breathability. It was developed by British Intelligence to keep pilots alive in WWII. Ventile Cotton was created to be cool and comfortable in the cockpit, yet warm and impenetrable if it came into contact with water.

As a result, the survival rate of British pilots increased by 1000%. It was so effective, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay trusted it during the first summit of Everest in 1953, For insulation, we chose ethically sourced wool sourced from the United Kingdom. Wool is odor-inhibiting, moisture-wicking, antibacterial, thermoregulating, and breathable. Best of all, every ounce is traceable to an ethical farm that pays fair wages and cares for its animals.

We used a 100% silk lining to provide unmatched comfort, even better thermoregulation, anti-microbial properties, and more moisture-wicking power. Plus, we incorporated a twill-weave to give it extra durability and hard-wearing longevity.

We left plenty of length in the torso and arms to allow you to size based on how you want it to fit. You can buy your normal size -or- you can size up for a looser fit as desired.

Sustainability is a nuanced topic. We use synthetics in some clothing where it makes sense, but on this project we wanted to see just how much could be done with only natural textiles. We used zero synthetic fabrics in the Century Jacket. That means less plastic. By choosing the Century Jacket, you get a lifelong jacket that’s clean of macro-synthetics and micro-plastics.

Dry-clean for longest life. Spot clean as needed. For more in-depth home cleaning, close zippers and turn garment inside out. Wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle. Air dry avoiding direct sunlight. To reactivate PFC-free DWR treatment, iron carefully on warm. Machine washing and/or drying will result in some visible wear - not a bad thing, in our opinion, but we want you to know.

The name LIVSN comes from the Swedish word “livsnjutare,” which roughly translates to “one who lives life deeply; an enjoyer of life.” This journey started with a mission to simplify our belongings. With less to manage there’s more time in the day, and with more time comes flexibility. We know we won’t regret more time outside with friends and family.
