We aim to consistently deliver knives of the utmost quality, knives that are designed to last for generations. A knife you can always rely on to perform at its best - that's what we believe Skarp stands for, Our passion for innovation led us to experiment with unique steel materials, resulting in the Aichi Steel Company steel AUS 10 used in the Skarp. This steel allows for easy sharpening with a ceramic rod, while maintaining its sharpness throughout use, making it a durable and reliable tool for chefs.

The damascus pattern and 45 layers of steel in the blade, along with the exclusive chacate wood handle, add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the knife, The pink resin ring makes the knife easy to recognize in the kitchen or hanging on the wall, Since the inception of this idea, we've gone through numerous designs, tested over 15 different types of steel, explored more than 100 various handles and wood types. The journey has undeniably been a lengthy one, and it is only now that we are satisfied with what we've developed that we can share it with you.

We wanted to create a knife that not only performed well but also looked stunning in any kitchen, The pink resin ring might differ from pictures, but it will still be very recognizable from distance, At Assio & Engvall, our journey to present you with our latest creation, Skarp, has been a culmination of countless iterations and relentless dedication. Beginning with a basic knife sketch, we embarked on a journey to infuse our unique style, tweaking its blade form and design attributes to perfection.

When our visual concept and 3D designs hit the mark, we proceeded to prototype production, a critical step towards bringing Skarp to life, Understanding that prototyping signaled the onset of production, our focus shifted to finding the correct technique for manufacturing our knife. We sought nothing but the best, prioritizing quality without compromise, Despite initial setbacks in prototyping, we remained steadfast. Thanks to our collaborative Japanese and Chinese partners, we successfully developed the precise mold that perfectly matched our design, marking a turning point in our journey.

Initiating the prototyping and tooling process, we transitioned seamlessly into crafting multiple prototypes for rigorous testing. Among them, the standout prototype advanced to the next phase of comprehensive evaluation, a crucial step in ensuring the excellence of Skarp, Following extensive post-prototype testing, we assured that our knives are equipped to handle a wide array of kitchen cooking tasks while maintaining peak performance and durability. Your culinary endeavors can now be embraced with confidence and precision, courtesy of Skarp.

After rigorous industrial tests, we reached out to professional chefs and invited them to put Assio & Engvall Skarp to the test in the bustling kitchens of a restaurant, The chefs were thoroughly impressed with the results, confirming the outstanding performance and reliability of our product, Maintenance and proper sharpening are essential to ensure the longevity and performance of the Skarp chef's knife, When sharpening your Skarp knife, please avoid using regular tabletop sharpeners, Instead, follow these guidelines to achieve optimal results:

Sharpening Stone: Utilize a sharpening stone for the sharpening process, The Skarp is sharpened by hand at delivery and the sharpening angle may vary a bit, Angle Selection: Ensure you find the correct angle before sharpening. The Skarp, features an optimal sharpness angle of 12-14 degrees on each side, Daily Maintenance: For daily maintenance and to retain sharpness during the day of work, utilize a ceramic rod, Ceramic Rod Usage: Gently and carefully run the blade along the ceramic rod at the same 10-12 degree angle to realign the edge and maintain sharpness, Do NOT use metallic rods, this will destroy the edge and you will have to resharpen the knife using sharpening stones, Only use diamond sharpening tools if you know how to use them.

Is the Skarp Knife Expensive? Not at all!
