KUMI Sneakers: eco-friendly and recycled sneakers
Vegan and sustainable sneakers for adventurous people. We call them globe-trotters!
KUMI Sneakers adventure began two years ago when we, Sergio and Alexandra, tired of a nine-to-five job, decided to start our own project and dedicate ourselves to what we’re truly passionate about: sustainable fashion.
Despite being from two different parts of the world, we identify ourselves with the same interests: we are so lively– we love traveling, spending our time at the mountain or beach, discovering new places, trying new food – and we never miss the chance to wear a pair of comfortable and cool sneakers.
So we decided to create a project of vegan sneakers that would fit our lifestyle and values.
Respect and love for animals: we adopted a puppy that we love madly and we want to make sure animals are treated with the same dignity.
Sustainable fashion industry: using vegan, sustainable and recycled materials with the goal of sustainable fashion in mind. Our Classic KS model is mainly made of corn and recycled plastic bottles.
Local economy support: reducing CO2 impact and doing business with national companies.
For these reasons, KUMI Sneakers is more than a project. Through KUMI Sneakers we have the desire to create a community of globe-trotters that seek to leave a sustainable footprint with every step they take and that are committed to change the society they live in.
Our sustainable sneakers are based on an eco-sustainable principle. They are made of vegan materials, meaning their composition is non-animal origin, and recycled materials that reduce the environmental impact.
Our first sneaker, CLASSIC KS, comes in 5 colors and is unisex.

Vegan is not boring. The design of the Classic KS inspires movement and invites us to travel through its lines. It’s a combination of color and comfort. Thanks to its lightness it’s not a problem to take them on your adventures.
You can personalize your sneakers by combining the different varieties of lace colors. You can match them with the color of your sneakers or create your own style; you choose!
Unfortunately, the fashion industry is related to pollution and labor exploitation. More and more clothes are produced and consumed, generating high levels of pollution and at very competitive prices as a result of precarious work situations
However, we are increasingly aware of this situation and as consumers we look for alternatives to hyper-consumerism, buying ecological, sustainable, and ethical fashion brands.
KUMI Sneakers is committed to this change and for this reason, we would like to share our manifesto with you:
Cruelty-free shoes: our brand does not test on animals to produce our vegan sneakers.
Local sneakers made in Spain: Our sneakers are designed in Barcelona and produced in Elche. Consequently, we reduce transport CO2 emissions and collaborate with the local economy.
Proximity and closeness: the relationship with our providers is more than a simple exchange. They are our collaborators and it is essential to have a close relationship based on transparency, personal contact, and trust because without them we wouldn’t be able to do our project. So we always look for a win-win relationship and we make sure that the working conditions are appropriate.
Care of each sneaker: Unlike industrialized fashion, our production is local, by experts who pamper and take care of every detail when producing our sustainable sneakers.
Sustainability in every detail: In addition to choosing all the materials for our vegan sneakers, we also make sure that all the accessories are sustainable, including our packaging and merchandising as well as the shipping packaging. 100% compostable mailer made from bio-based polymer PBAT and a plant-based polymer PLA.
COLLABORATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
One of the pillars of our vegan sneakers brand is helping to achieve a society where animal rights are respected so they have a dignified life, free from exploitation, abuse, and testing.
For this reason, our sneakers brand is vegan and cruelty-free, and also we collaborate with Fundación para el Asesoramiento y Acción en Defensa de los Animales (FAADA) so they can continue their mission to achieve a society where coexistence among all living beings is based on respect.
